Every woman is entitled to a financially secure retirement. Living where you choose, having a good standard of living, and being able to enjoy your retirement are reasonable expectations.

Yet statistics show that many women will retire with insufficient retirement funds and many will live in poverty in later years. Reasons for this include the time women spend out of the paid workforce due to family commitments, not being able to find work, or working in lower paid, often casual or part time jobs. Many women also do not have access to user-friendly information to help them plan.

This website is designed to help get you started with three important steps:

1. Think about the future you want when you retire
2. Work out how much money you will need
3. Put a plan in place

Having the right information is essential to help you make good choices for your future financial security. The Northern Territory Government has produced this website to help give you the tools you need.

No matter where you are or what you do I encourage you to learn a little more about managing your finances. It will make a difference to your financial security.
