Tribute to Northern Territory Women

Nominations for the 2009 Tribute to Northern Territory Women are now open.

The Tribute to Northern Territory Women is an annual award that recognises, celebrates and commemorates the achievements of women who have made, or are making, a significant contribution for women in their community.

An independent panel is appointed to consider all the nominations against the following criteria:

• involvement and contribution to the Northern Territory community
• contribution as an inspirational role model/leader
• contribution to improving the lives of Territorians
• degree of long term community change and benefit
• degree of difficulty of the achievement and challenges overcome.

Individuals, organisations and community groups are encouraged to nominate a woman for the Tribute to Northern Territory Women. Whether they have been pioneers, early settlers, or living legends, these are women we are proud to recognise and honour.
